The Little Prince in the Dark Collection
“One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye,”
This artistic attempt to bring Saint-Exupéry’s illustrations to life for those who otherwise would not have access them : the blind. The 13 sculptures are made to be touched by the visually impaired, but also by anybody who wish to have an experience of being blind with a scarf on the eyes, or just to have the feeling to touch them for the tactile experience of sculptures.
It features the same sculptures as in the Art Collection, but this time painted in fluorescent white and placed in a dark and black room. Illuminated by low powered UV lights, they appear to glow in the dark and are accompanied by audio descriptions. An exhibition intended to raise awareness of visual impairment. Sighted visitors have the opportunity to be blindfolded and are encouraged to touch the artworks.
